What size hitch do I need to tow a Wave & Ridge utility trailer?

A 2-inch ball with a standard Class I to III receiver hitch. That's the same rating that covers our jet-ski and pontoon trailers, so most tow-ready vehicles are already set up for it. If you're not sure what your vehicle has, call us before you book and we'll confirm: (480) 637-4848.

What kind of tow vehicle do I need?

Most SUVs, trucks, and minivans with a Class I to III hitch can tow our utility trailers. Tell us what you drive when you book and we'll confirm it's a fit before you head out.

How much weight can the trailer carry?

Both trailers are rated for 7,000 lbs on dual 3,500 lb tandem axles. That's enough for two full-size 4-seat UTVs on the 30' trailer, or a single UTV plus gear on the 20' Big Tex.

How is my load secured for the drive?

Every trailer leaves our lot fully strapped down with the tie-downs and safety chains it needs, included at no extra charge. The 20' Big Tex also has multiple D-rings across the deck for extra anchor points on odd-shaped loads, and we secure the load with you before you leave so you see exactly how it's done.

How do I load my UTV onto the trailer?

Both trailers have a reinforced gate ramp built to handle the weight of a UTV or side-by-side. Back up, lower the ramp, and drive your machine straight on - our staff walks you through it at pickup.

I don't have a tow vehicle. What are my options?

A U-Haul less than 5 minutes from our shop rents pickup trucks for about $20 a day, and Wave & Ridge takes $20 off a 4-hour or 8-hour trailer rental to help cover it (this doesn't apply to 2-hour bookings, and mileage isn't covered). If your own vehicle has a hitch receiver but no ball mount, we also rent a hitch for $20.
